Hi, I'm Manuel, the developer behind Race Results. I'm Spanish, I love MotoGP, and right now I'm a big Marc Márquez fan. So yes, I have my favourite when the lights go out. But I want this app to be useful whichever rider you're cheering for, and whether you follow MotoGP, Moto2 or Moto3.
I wanted to write something a little more personal about the recent versions. Release notes are useful, but they don't leave much room to explain why I've been working on these things.

Version 1.5: more of the weekend to share
There's always something to talk about after a race. The podium, someone coming through the field, or two riders whose seasons are going in very different directions. I wanted the share button to give you something useful for those conversations.
In version 1.5, sharing became a deck of graphics you can swipe through. Before a race, there are weekend posters, countdowns and timetables. Afterwards, you can choose the winner, podium, results or the riders who gained the most places.

Riders and teams have their own cards too, and you can put two riders side by side from the comparison screen. As a Márquez fan, I have an obvious starting point for that one. I'll leave the choice of his opponent to you.

I also added a share card for the lights-out reaction test. It's a small bit of fun between sessions: get a time, send it to a friend, and see if they can beat it.
Versions 1.6 and 1.7: the small details matter
Some of the work in these versions is less visible in a screenshot, but it matters when you're following a race.
Version 1.6 fixed the live order so riders on the lead lap stay ahead of lapped riders, including in the Live Activity. Version 1.7 fixed a related issue where someone just behind the leader could briefly appear as “+1 lap” when the leader crossed the line.
Those are the kinds of distractions I want to get out of the way. You should be able to glance at the order and get back to the racing.
Version 1.7: Race Results on your wrist
The bigger addition in version 1.7 is the Apple Watch companion. It puts the next-session countdown, the race-weekend timetable and the championship top five on your wrist, for all three classes.

For me, the appeal is simple: sometimes I just want to know how long I have until the next session. I don't need to open everything on my phone to answer that.

The Watch keeps its most recent sync available offline as well. It's the last saved information, so refresh it before heading away from a connection.
Next up: version 1.8
There's a fix prepared for Apple Watch session times, which could be shifted by the circuit's time difference. They should display consistently in your own time zone. Thanks to Henk for pointing this out.
Version 1.8 is still marked unreleased in the app's changelog, so I'm mentioning it here as the next update, rather than something you can already download.
If you've been using Race Results, thank you. And if something feels wrong, or there's a detail you'd love to have during a weekend, please send me a message. Hearing from other fans helps me decide what to work on next.
You can find Race Results on the App Store, and I'll keep sharing updates here as the app grows.
See you at lights out,
Manuel Escrig
